I’m going through a period of (quite a lot of) earnest reflection at the moment – and the extent to which I really need to change some of my thinking patterns is becoming increasingly and abundantly clear. I’ve been aware of this for a long time, actually, but in recent months it’s come into some fairly sharp relief. Which is a little bit scary and unsettling. On the other hand, awareness, understanding and willingness to give change a go are good things and important first steps, so hoorah for those!
One of the things that I’ve noticed lately – and this one has kind of crept up on me – is that even the hobbies that are meant to be relaxing and counter all the anxiety have started to become chores. Not good. And yes, this does include – sadly – the blogging and the crafting. Sigh.
Giving up on either is simply not an option – I love them too much! So I’m going to try to shift my approach – and this may mean posting less frequently, at least for a while. I’m going to try to let the crafting lead… leisurely… and then let the blogging flow from there. ‘As it comes’ not ‘I must do it’. We shall see how it goes. The aim is to focus on enjoying the moment and reducing the worry and pressure. Here’s to mindfulness!
In the meantime, the crafting does continue… gently. You can see some of my more recent creations on the Out-takes page. There is one sneak preview above; here’s another:
And for those of you who are wondering how the fussball table saga is coming along… I feel the first goal of the season may be in the offing. Watch this space!
